Level Up Gateway September Dev Update
In September even more classes are moving to level 20 and a heap of bugs have been resolved on Level Up Gateway!
Rogue
Level 20 rogues are on the menu! Up to level 20 the Rogue’s skill list really explodes with expertise and add-ons, some expertise even making it up to a d12.
Rogues get upgrades to their skills, combat abilities and social tools. One particularly fun option is the Burglar Rogue’s Verbal Riposte which builds upon roguish stereotypes from fiction very well.
And another thematic feature to highlight is the 11th level Cunning Celerity feature which allows the rogue to take two bonus actions a number of times. This along with the long list of things a rogue can do with a bonus action makes the character a whirlwind in combat.
Adept
The Adept is now also supported to level 20 with 37 Focus Features and 15 Practiced Techniques. We’ve changed strategy with some Adept features, moving them from the Martial tab to Actions where we find they’re easier to keep track of. Longer term we will be moving more Focus Features and Practiced Techniques to appear in Actions as well as a way to manage Exertion.
We added the Adept’s bonus action Unarmed Strike to the actions page, this was not explicitly show before since it is only available based on other actions on your turn but with the Perfect Fist feature changing its damage it is useful to have it present on the sheet to track it separately from the non bonus action version:
And a highlight of the Adept at such a high level is the abundance of triggered actions on the character sheet. Having these here with their triggers summarized will be an aid to remember them all when their use presents itself!
And even more will be added from Focus Features and Practiced Techniques that currently only appear on the Martial tab.
Bugfixes
A full list of bug fixes is available on Gateway’s changelog page but some big fixes include one that crashed the Wizard’s spell selection in the character builder and another that crashed when editing monsters. And one that showed spell damage at the incorrect level for levelled spells. Thank you as always for reporting bugs, it is extraordinarily helpful.
